POPACAS is an active member in the North Texas community and its physicians volunteer hundreds of hours each year to organizations like the Children’s Eye Foundation, Pearle Vision Foundation, Dallas Services for Visually Impaired Children and PediPlace.
Children’s Eye Foundation – for more than forty years, the Children’s Eye Foundation has been dedicated to eliminating preventable blindness in children. Dr. George Beauchamp is the chairman and chief executive officer of the foundation and has led it for more than 20 years.
Most recently, Pediatric Ophthalmology joined the fight against blindness by participating in the Dallas Vision Walk. Our team helped the Foundation Fighting Blindness raise both critically needed funds for research and awareness about the 10 million Americans affected by blinding retinal diseases.
In addition to supporting these philanthropic organizations, POPACAS is a participant in a vision screening program called See by Three, which focuses on public awareness, research and training to ensure the early detection and treatment of children’s vision disorders.
