Dr. Cynthia L. Beauchamp, MA, MD

Pediatric Ophthalmologist and Strabismologist 

Dr. Cynthia L. Beauchamp is a board certified ophthalmologist.  She joined Pediatric Ophthalmology, PA and the Center for Adult Strabismus in August 2008 after completing a Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus at the University of Texas Southwestern and Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern. She received her MD from Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society in her junior year. Dr. Beauchamp received both Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Organizational Behavior from Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA.

Dr. Beauchamp has authored several articles in referenced medical literature and a chapter in a major ophthalmology reference book. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at UT Southwestern, where she gives an annual ethics lecture.   Dr. Cynthia L. Beauchamp has been honored in D Magazine’s listing of Best Pediatric Specialists several years in a row– 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

She has served on the executive council for the Texas Ophthalmology Association and on the Executive Board of the Children’s Eye Foundation and is a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Dallas County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has worked—from inception to launch—on All Children See, a public service project of the Children’s Eye Foundation aimed at providing quality eye exams to children despite their socioeconomic status.  She has served as an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. She remains committed to providing quality medical for all patients and has a special interest in diversity in the medical community. Prime among her interests are the time spent with and the varied activities of her three sons: Kyle, Chase and Finnley.

In the event of severe weather Pediatric Ophthalmology, PA may choose to delay opening, close early or fully close operations for the day. Decisions will be made based on local weather conditions and communicated promptly through our website homepage.  Any scheduled appointments will be called in the event of closing.
